Despite a valiant effort comprised of six event wins out of ten events, Duck Tape Racing's Michael Beard watched the Pageland Dragway championship slip away as the final points race was canceled due to the weather forecast. It was the second such event of the season, which eliminated a chance for Beard to claim a minimum of the 5 "entry points" at each race in his abbreviated schedule. Beard finished second in the championship chase by just 3 points, while claiming two less events than the competition.
The Duck Tape Volare will be back in competition at the IHRA Div. 2 Summit Team Finals at Darlington Dragway, October 7-11.
