Take Two!

Duck Tape Racing enjoyed expanded exposure over the Independence Day holiday weekend, with two cars racing in two states. Michael Beard continued testing the new Sloan Engines/Southland Speed DragPak engine in the Volare, and made good on Saturday with a Runner-Up at Farmington Dragway (Winston-Salem, NC market), making for two final round appearances in as many weeks, with different cars. The Volare was also in competition on Sunday at Piedmont Dragway (Greensboro, NC market), but was ousted in the first round. Meanwhile, Matt Zapp picked up the slack on Sunday by dusting off the Duck Tape Chevelle for Thompson Raceway Park's annual Independence Eve Explosion event in Ohio. Zapp advanced all the way down to six cars (1/4-finals), with racing extending well past midnight at the popular event, one of their biggest shows of the year.
