Beard is Perfectly Strange

NHRA Div. 1 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series
Atco Raceway, Atco, NJ
October 1-3, 2010
Michael Beard drove the Duck Tape Turismo in Stock Eliminator, and won first round before the event was postponed due to track conditions caused by inclement weather. Beard had a near-perfect .004 reaction time and ran a perfect 15.450 Elapsed Time on a 15.45 prediction, to earn the Strange Engineering "Perfectly Strange Performance Award". There were 116 cars in Stock Eliminator alone, with over 500 competitors in all at the event. Beard will be unable to return for the completion of the event, as the reschedule date falls on top of the IHRA World Finals and Tournament of Champions at Virginia Motorsports Park in two weeks.

Coming up this week:
The driving shoes come off for once as Michael Beard takes the mic to handle the announcing duties at the IHRA Div. 2 East Summit Team Finals, Wednesday through Sunday, Oct 6-10, 2010 -- the same event where the Duck Tape Volare won three out of four races last year. IHRA rules mandate that the Top 5 in IHRA Points are ineligible to compete in the Summit Team Finals. Due to winning the IHRA Stock World Championship, the defending IHRA Div. 2 Modified E.T. Champion will instead be a part of the event in the booth! Beard worked for IHRA from 2000-2002, and announced a number of Summit Team Finals events in that capacity.
