The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection

The Labor Day weekend was perfect in many ways as Team Duck Tape's Matt Zapp attended the Ten Grand Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park.

Three days of sunny weather set the stage for a great weekend. Zapp laid down a pair of .000 reaction times in the '66 Duck Tape Chevelle, earning the Moser Axle Mania cash bonus twice. Thank you to Summit Motorsports Park and Moser Engineering for such a great program.

Zapp went four rounds deep on Friday night and two rounds on Saturday. He averaged .007 on the tree for the weekend in the Chevelle. Also, a big thanks to Scott Tekavic for allowing Zapp to double-enter on Saturday. He went four additional rounds in the Zapp Trailers backed '74 Vega.

Again, the Bader family provided our team with a prominent end-cap parking location near the staging lanes. This parking area provided huge exposure for our team sponsors and the four Vintage Trailers that were on display. Interest in our Vintage trailers was very high.

We also handed out 850 rolls of commercial grade Duck Tape from our pit space. Racers converged on our display every time that Bill Bader and Skeet Peaco announced the promo. Excellent work from the tower in promoting Duck brand Duck Tape!

In addition to Duck Tape, each of our partners received much appreciated attention this weekend. Thank you to Abruzzi Racing Transmissions, CAM 2 Racing Oils, Davis Racecars, Grand Rock Industries, K & N Filters, Mickey Thompson Tires, Vintage Trailers and Zapp Trailer Sales.

Team Duck Tape's fall schedule includes planned stops at the NHRA Sports Nationals in Columbus (Sept 25-27), the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham (Oct 14-28) and Summit Motorsprots Park's Halloween Classic (Oct 19-25).
